The Venue: Oak Crest Mansion Inn

One of the biggest reasons couples are drawn to Oak Crest Mansion Inn in South Mississippi is how effortlessly beautiful it is.

The property is filled with towering oak trees, tucked-away garden spaces, and timeless architecture that immediately sets the tone for a romantic, relaxed wedding day. You don’t need to over-style or overthink it—this venue naturally does the work for you.

sprawling oak trees that create the dreamiest light for ceremonies and portraits
indoor mansion that is jaw dropping, like their grand staircase
multiple spaces for reception, for both small and large weddings

First Looks & Family

The Bride and Groom waited to see each other for the first time walking down the aisle, therefore, first looks were utilized with Bride and dad, and Groom and their daughter. Since they waited for first look, we were able to capture lots of special family moments before ceremony.

Of course my favorites are always bride and groom portraits. Most of the times I have to location scout outside forever at venues to find the perfect lighting and landscape. Oak Crest’s interior itself has you not wanting to step outside.

Without a packed timeline, we were able to explore the property and really lean into those quiet, in-between moments. Every corner of Oak Crest Mansion Inn offers something different.

Their portraits felt effortless and natural. Nothing forced—just movement, connection, and moments that actually reflect how the day felt.

The Ceremony- Oak Crest Mansion Inn’s Intimate Chapel

With a smaller guest list, the couple was able to fit their ceremony in Oak Crest’s intimate chapel on their property. The beautiful stained glass windows and deep brown wooden interior made it for a beautiful space and moments for the couple.

The reception carried that same intentional energy into the evening.

It felt less like a big event and more like an elevated, intimate gathering—full of meaningful conversation, genuine laughter, and space to truly be present.

Every part of it felt aligned with who they are. I really felt like I got to connect and know the family. This can be rare as a wedding photographer, so I enjoyed every second of this day.
